B.K.S. Iyengar states:
"The yoga experience parallels life experience,
how to be free and strong, and let the joy
that's within us be boundless.”

 

Introductory classes are for beginners. Pre-registration is suggested and the class may be repeated for student's increased understanding and confidence.

Level I classes are for students who have some experience in shoulderstand and have either completed the six-week intro course, have three months previous Iyengar yoga experience or six months in the other styles of yoga. The foundation poses and shoulder stand will be consolidated and head stand will be introduced.

Level 2 classes are for students with previous Iyengar training who are strong in standing poses and can perform headstand, shoulderstand and backbends.

Beginners Classes are ongoing. Intro series is recommended but not required.

Inversions are classes for beginners who have completed the intro classes and /or continuing students; designed to give students the techniques and confidence to progress to an all levels class.

Private/Semi-Private is for people with specific health concerns, a desire to set up a regular practice, or refine an established practice.

Intermediate Classes are for students with previous Iyengar training who are strong in standing poses and can perform headstand, shoulder stand and backbends.

Gentle Yoga is for students desiring a slower approach or those with specific needs.

Restorative Poses are gentle, supported poses designed to calm the nervous system, passively strengthen the body and create relaxation.

Pranayama Breathing techniques will also be introduced in many of the classes.

Vinyasa is a movement class with yoga poses linked one to the other. Headstand and shoulderstand will be included. Students need at least six months of Iyengar experience or by special permission of the teacher.

Special Focus Each student in this class practices a routine designed by Vickie to address problem areas of focus.

Open Practice is free for current students with class cards. A teacher will be present practicing and the props will be available for student use. Drop- in fee: $10.00

Beginner's Mind Sangha consists of sitting and walking meditation, chants, recitations, sutra discourses and Dharma talks. For information , call M'Tae at 208-383-9616 or Rick Sonnenberg at 208-363-0517.

In-depth Study Program for Students and Teachers This program is for dedicated students who desire to deepen their understanding and practice, those students interested in pursuing Yoga teaching and perhaps Iyengar certification, or current Yoga teachers desiring to sharpen their teaching skills.

The Boise Yoga Center is located on the Ridenbaugh Canal at 3113 Rose Hill, off Vista Avenue between Shoshone and Owyhee streets. Our entrance is in the back of the building.

We are a fully equipped studio - no need to bring your own props.
